Sustainable Insulation for Your Home

Our wool blend insulation combines the natural benefits of New Zealand wool with the durability of polyester, creating a sustainable alternative to traditional insulation without compromising on performance. The wool naturally helps regulate moisture by absorbing excess humidity and releasing it, backed by a 50-year product warranty.

Designed to improve thermal comfort year round, it helps reduce heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer, keeping homes warmer, cooler and comfortable in every season.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is insulation?

Insulation is a material fitted inside your walls, ceiling and floor that slows the movement of heat. It keeps warmth inside during winter and out during summer, making your home more comfortable, quieter and cheaper to heat. How well it works is measured by its R value: the higher the R value, the better it resists heat flow.

What is Real Wool insulation made of?

It is a blend of natural New Zealand wool and polyester. The wool brings natural thermal comfort and moisture regulation, while the polyester adds strength and durability, so you get a natural product that performs and lasts.

Is it safe to handle and install myself?

Yes. Unlike traditional fibreglass, our wool blend is non toxic, non allergenic and non irritant, so you can handle it with bare hands, no mask or gloves needed. It installs like standard insulation into walls, ceilings and floors, and many customers fit it themselves. Full guidance is in our installation instructions.

How much do I need, and what R value should I choose?

It depends on the area you are insulating and the R value required for your walls, ceiling or floor. As a rule ceilings need the highest R value, then walls, then floors. Send us your project details through the quote form and we will help you match the right products.

Where can I use it?

Walls, ceilings and roofs, and underfloor. It is also used in garage and internal doors, temperature controlled packaging and ducting. It suits both new builds and renovations.

Is it BRANZ appraised and Building Code compliant?

Yes. Real Wool insulation is independently appraised by BRANZ (Appraisals 1011 and 1012) and tested to ASTM C518 for thermal performance. It meets the relevant New Zealand Building Code clauses for durability, moisture and energy efficiency.

How does it handle moisture?

Wool naturally absorbs excess humidity from the air and releases it again as conditions change. This helps maintain a comfortable, healthy indoor environment and avoids the trapped dampness that can reduce the performance of other insulation.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, every BRANZ appraised product is backed by a 50 year product warranty.

Can I get custom sizes, and how long do orders take?

Custom sizes are available on request. Minimum order quantities may apply and custom sized products are made to order, so they cannot be returned. Standard lead time is around 7 working days from order confirmation. Contact us and we will confirm the details for your project.

Is it sustainable?

Yes. It is made from renewable wool fibres, is 100% recyclable, and comes with returnable offcuts and reusable packaging to reduce waste. It is manufactured to ISO9001 certification.

Can I buy in bulk for commercial use?

Yes. We supply insulation in bulk for commercial and large scale projects. Get in touch and our team will help with volumes, pricing and lead times to suit your project.
